Cover Lesson - Monday 1st March (Library)

You are booked into the Library for the duration of the double lesson (I will return in the last 10 minutes to check your progress). During this time, you should complete the following tasks - some of which should have been completed for homework:

A) Read to the end of Act 1, Scene 1, annotating the play thoroughly and adding to your mindmaps of Paulina and Gerardo

B) Research a Truth Commission

C) Re-read Act 1 Scene 2 and answer the following questions:

1. “We still haven’t got used to it” – why does being woken in the night seem disturbing?
2. Look at the style of the conversation between Gerardo and Roberto on p.12/13. In what ways does this exchange seem realistic to you?
3. What would the audience’s initial impression of Roberto be from this scene?
4. What information regarding the commission’s work is revealed in this scene?
5. What importance do the stage directions at the end of this scene have?
